I was rewatching parts of it and just had this thought…

Is this supposed to be Yamaguchi from Gokusen? xD Didn’t really occur to me earlier (in the manga I just thought it was some generic pun), but with the audio it sure seems like Yamaguchi…

Chapters 8-9 fully covered. If it’s a single season show, chapter 17 would be a good place to stop from what I’ve seen… But back to this week’s episode.
Hmm… where to start… I guess with a disclaimer that the new character names are all my romanizations, I’ve no clue on the official versions. Kay, we got that out of the way, let’s move onto said new characters - the first Mishima baddies.
Vanilla M. (Make) Repairs (ヴァニラ・M(メイク)・リペアーズ) looks pretty good, but not as hot as I would like - I think it’s the face shape and blue hair, which was more metallic in the manga art. I’m also not sold on Sheryl Nome voicing her… On the other hand I absolutely love how Kite B. (Bryan) Sounds (カイト・B(ブライアン)・サウンズ) turned out in the anime, great job there. Kiriko and Mitsuishi Kotono didn’t get much time to shine, but they did the job perfectly fine as Kemeko’s opposite.
Kemeko’s opposite… and here I think lies my problem with the 2nd half of this episode - Kiriko, Vanilla and Kite are all rather calm characters, which didn’t exactly make things exciting. This further proves that “Kemeko Deluxe!” is indeed Kemeko’s (and Chiwa Saito’s) show - whenever she’s on screen - be it the Ninja or Snail Kemeko - it succeeds. Orite, the little fight between Kemeko and Ryoko was also better than anything in episode 3. :D
And here’s the full Vanilla pic. There’s more after the jump~

I suppose I could’ve included the PV comments here, lol. Decent song, weak video (watch at JVC’s site). December 3, 2008 release.

Yay slowpoke.jpg news!
Slayers Evolution-R site up. Confirms January airdate, staff, cast & February 4, 2009 OP/ED single release.
Chiaki Ishikawa’s Prototype PV is also available at JVC’s site. Decent song, weak video. Also by trying to make Chiaki look young they made her look old (assuming it’s not the QUALITY videos fault). Single is getting released on December 3, 2008.
