CD: kukui “Hakoniwa Note”

Post bump cause of tracklisting (source: official site). Surprisingly, only 5 of the tracks are old and we’re getting 4 brand new songs + the previously unreleased Angel Profile OP/ED songs and a new version of the first Rozen Maiden ED (the original version was a collaborative effort from kukui members before the band was officialy formed). Can’t wait.

Old content (2007-09-24): The album now has a title. :)

Older content (2007-07-19): Rumours regarding kukui’s 1st full album are flying around - according to them, the CD would get released on October 3, 2007 with a LHCA-5079 cat#. The item is available on frontierworks shop, but with the Angel Profile single (LHCM-1035) getting cancelled (or postponed) even though it is still listed on most online shops, I’d be cautious…

Sekai Satoyama Kikou DVDs…

So why no Yuki Kajiura CD announcement? Anyways, the DVDs are coming out in stand alone (NSDS-11632,NSDS-11633,NSDS-11634) and box (NSDX-11635) editions on November 22, 2007. Covers below. There’s more after the jump~

Let me be the first to say that Gurren Lagann BEST SOUND is disappointing. I wouldn’t be surprised if I were the only one, too.

I can forgive Iwasaki for using Tarantura as much as he did (even if I still think he ruins perfectly fine BGMs by this rap fascination he seems to have since Kekkaishi), but I am just VERY disappointed that the tracks I wanted from the show are not included on this CD. Most importantly, I’m missing the track that played in episode 10 when Adeine revealed that Nia was abandoned by her father. That was ONE BGM that I wanted, and instead I get 5 ‘fight the power’ versions.

Once I look past the omissions and the poor “rap” on Tarantura’s part, this is a very solid CD though. My favorite (surprisingly) is the track that was used (mostly?) in the Anti-Spiral arc, The Blue Monday E“R”Ectrical Parade. It’s a really good effort on Iwasaki’s part to give Anti-Spirals a different feel from the Beastmen in the first 15 episodes. My other favorites are: どうだ!オレのトランペットは凄いだろう!!, 回って回って回って回ってててて… & BafBaf!そんなに燃えるのが・・・好きかい?

The first volume goes on sale February 22, 2008. Long time to go… Also, two ~100minutes long OVAs edited from My-Otome and Zwei stories are coming out on January 25, 2008.
