Gurren-Lagann OST is disappointing.

Let me be the first to say that Gurren Lagann BEST SOUND is disappointing. I wouldn’t be surprised if I were the only one, too.
I can forgive Iwasaki for using Tarantura as much as he did (even if I still think he ruins perfectly fine BGMs by this rap fascination he seems to have since Kekkaishi), but I am just VERY disappointed that the tracks I wanted from the show are not included on this CD. Most importantly, I’m missing the track that played in episode 10 when Adeine revealed that Nia was abandoned by her father. That was ONE BGM that I wanted, and instead I get 5 ‘fight the power’ versions.
Once I look past the omissions and the poor “rap” on Tarantura’s part, this is a very solid CD though. My favorite (surprisingly) is the track that was used (mostly?) in the Anti-Spiral arc, The Blue Monday E“R”Ectrical Parade. It’s a really good effort on Iwasaki’s part to give Anti-Spirals a different feel from the Beastmen in the first 15 episodes. My other favorites are: どうだ!オレのトランペットは凄いだろう!!, 回って回って回って回ってててて… & BafBaf!そんなに燃えるのが・・・好きかい?

What is with “fight the power” rap? it’s basically in every damn songs. Libera me from Hell was the one I wanted without that rap. Sigh… Hopefully they will release it on the next OST

did u know Libera me from hell is a song about
Rasen ppl versus anti-spiral??
the rap part shows shimon and other ppl
and the opera shows the anti-spiral
therefore if you say u don`t need the rap
it means you guyz are anti-spirals LOL

I think “Libera me” from hell is where the rap worked best, really. I never heard the rap-alone track (Either of them) in the anime, and I think it would have been cool if we could have had that other song with the rap over it both with and without it.

IT’S AWESOME, YOU JUST CAN’T ACCEPT IT. RAP IS THE LANGUAGE OF A MAN’S SOUL.

I would be interested in more detailed album info, but it seems hard to find. Could somebody perhaps make a Discogs entry of the OST, preferably with sleeve scans?
“Poor rap”? Of course it may be because I am not a native English speaker, but to me, the rapping in “Libera Me” sounds quite decent - and very old-school. References to Public Enemy of the 80s and Gil Scott-Heron of the 70s.

Hey, the track on episode 10, that one you mentioned. I’ve been looking it up like crazy in all the OST CDs. It really is missing? T_T The one I wanted the most and there’s not? It really is dissapointin in the end *sigh*
